Aston Martin on track to sell 30 cars in India news

Within a week of its India entry, UK-based super-premium luxury sports car maker Aston Martin says it is comfortably placed to sell its targeted 30 units this year, having already received over 20 bookings, according to a company representative.
 
"We have received an excess of 20 bookings so far," Performance Cars (division of Infinity Cars) director Lalit Choudhary, official importers of Aston Martin cars in India, told reporters in Chennai.

The 97-year-old car manufacturer, which shot to worldwide fame after being featured in James Bond movies finally made it to India with the opening of their showroom in Mumbai on 15April.

The company's entire range except Cygnet would be on offer in India. The company's range includes the basic V8 Vantage to the ultra-exclusive One-77 Hypercar, according to Choudhary.

The prices of the luxury cars range from Rs1.35 crore to a whopping Rs20 crore and cover eight models.

Choudhary said, of the 20 bookings, 14 cars have already been delivered to the customers. He added that south India is likely to emerge as an important market for the company with Chennai emerging as a big market for the cars.

"The Indian luxury super car market is emerging over the last four years. Last year it touched 100 units and this year we are expecting it to double", Choudhary said.
