Mumbai: DHL Express, the No 1 international air express services provider in India, has unveiled the company''s latest Jumbo Box and Jumbo Junior promotion.

Targeting a base of over 4,000 exporters who are increasingly using this product to send out bulk samples, heavy products or shipments requiring special packaging care, this is the first promotion launched after DHL''s recent integration announcement.

The DHL Jumbo Box is a unique service solution created by DHL to facilitate the export of goods from 10 kg up to 25kg or the DHL Jumbo Junior for goods up to 10kg. Jumbo customers can have their shipment picked up and express delivered door-to-door to over 120,000 destinations worldwide for a low flat fee.

Because of its fixed cost and its ease of packaging, it is used to ship just about anything from annual reports and samples to replacement parts, all delivered with ease and security at one all-inclusive, low price.

Says DHL Express country manager Chris Callen: "The Jumbo innovation is one of our most popular offerings. Its appeal lies in the tremendous flexibility and the convenience it offers our customers. Proof of the success of this product lies in the fact that this year shipments of Jumbo product are growing at over 21 per cent.

"Jumbo is acknowledged as one of the finest marketing innovations in the B2B segment. This is considered to be a commodity segment where traditionally sub-branding or product based branding has not been attempted.

"Jumbo is not only serving the diverse needs of exporters, but has also established a unique identity as a brand that enjoys high recall and recognition. This brand stands for a promise to our customers and the rapid growth that DHL Jumbo has achieved over the last 10 years since its inception is testimony to its reliability, utility and versatility."

Under the latest redemption campaign, DHL Jumbo customers will get a guaranteed gift for every Jumbo Shipment sent — 1 Jumbo Box or 2 Jumbo Juniors. The prizes range from attractive Parker Pen sets to wristwatches and household appliances such as televisions and refrigerators.

There is also a mega bumper prize — the customer who ships the highest number of Jumbo Boxes (or equivalent Jumbo Juniors) during the offer period will win audio-visual equipment and household appliances worth Rs.1.5 lakhs.

Explaining the mechanics of the Jumbo Festival, Callen says: "To participate, DHL customers need merely to send an international Jumbo Box or Jumbo Junior, fax in the redemption forms and tell us which gift they want."

DHL''s Jumbo Box range is just one tool in the company''s arsenal of trade facilitation products that helps customers to streamline their operations. For companies to remain profitable in today''s uncertain global business arena, it makes sense for them to out-source non-core functions. DHL assists by providing efficient, cost saving services and fully integrated business solutions.

DHL continually invests in extensive research and development in order to offer its customers the best in cutting edge internet and WAP applications, tailor-made business and shipping solutions and, advanced logistics solutions, say company officials.
