IBM India has announced the appointment of Amitabh
Ray as director, IBM Global Services India (IGSI) Exports,
Indias leading multinational software services exporter.
Ray replaces Dr Uday Shukla, who moves on as director,
Asia Pacific global delivery, IBM Global Services.
Ray
was the leader of the technology and offshore practice
of erstwhile PwC Consulting in India, which has now been
merged with IBM Corporation globally to form IBM Business
Consulting Services (IBM BCS), the new consulting arm
of IBM Corporation.
Says
Ray: IGSI Exports earned many laurels from Indian
IT industry watchers in 2002. This year we are poised
to again lead in the market by continuing to play a key
role in IBMs global delivery model that provides
quality solutions to our customers across the world at
affordable cost and minimal risk.
Ray
has varied experience in the areas of systems integration
and implementation, apart from possessing a confirmed
track-record for handling major hi-tech clients across
the globe including Hewlett Packard, Intel, 3COM,
Motorola, Applied Materials Inc, Sony, Shell, TetraPak,
British Airways, General Motors, Gillette, Nestle, Cadbury
and Unilever. Ray is a member of the Technology Sub-Committee
of Confederation of Indian Industry.
