Optimus
Outsourcing Company a 100 per cent subsidiary of
Polaris Software Lab
announced the acquisition of the assets belonging to the
Bangalore based iBackoffice.com, a customer relationship
management company.
A
press release issued by Optimus yesterday stated that
the companys binding offer to iBackoffice has been
accepted by the latter. According to the release, the
key investor in iBackoffice is Global Technology Venture,
Bangalore.
According
to iBackoffices chief operating officer Subhendu
Mitra, Optimus will acquire our Bangalore call centre
and the data centre in Miami. The Indian office
has room to accommodate 250 seats but has rolled out 120
seats. Our employee strength is 180, says
Mitra.
According
to Mitra, both companies are yet to decide on the fate
of iBackoffices marketing office in USA. Polaris
has several offices in USA. So a decision about our office
is yet to be taken.
Mitra
says the takeover by Optimus will enable iBackoffice to
offer additional value-added services to financial sector
players, apart from the call centre services offered now.
However,
he declined to reveal the price offered by Optimus.
Meanwhile
Polaris Software has informed the stock exchanges about
calling two separate extraordinary general meetings on
December 30, 2002. The first meeting is convened by the
High Court for the approval of the scheme of amalgamation
between OrbiTEch Solutions and the company. The second
meeting is for the increase of authorised share capital,
alteration of the capital clause of the memorandum and
articles of association.
