Public sector bank Canara Bank, has completed its rollout of countrywide automated
credit card solution using `Intellect Cards'' from Polaris Software Lab Limited.
The bank has opted the new solution as it has plans to increase its credit
card client base from 1.25 million to more than five million. According
to Polaris Software officials the Canara Bank project involved implementing
solutions for managing card issuance and acquiring, fraud management, authorisation,
loyalty management, debit card management, and collections. The solution was
implemented at the head office of the Canara Bank card operations in Bangalore
and enables card management across the 2500 branches. "As
one of the pioneers of the credit cards business in India, Canara Bank was
keen to upgrade its ability to deliver rapid, accurate and reliable services
to its large customer base", said B.Swaminathan, executive director,
Canara Bank. "For
over 19 years, Polaris Software has delivered focused solutions in banking
and financial services to clients across India and throughout
the world," said Koen Van den Brande is president Product Group.
