Tata Electric Companies Ltd is planning a Rs. 300-crore investment in the telecom sector and is also eyeing the internet services sector.

This was announced at the annual general shareholders meed of TEC by the Chairman, Ratan N Tata. This investment is to be made over a three year period and is a move with a long term perspective. The company has significant investments in Tata telecom services and the company does not see this investment as a major diversification.
