Mumbai:
Tata Indicom VSAT Services (TIVS) has entered in to a strategic business alliance
with Digifour Technologies (Digi4) to introduce, ''TNET Signage'', that delivers
digital signage content via satellite. . Digi4 offers ''SCALA'', a leading
platform for digital signage. The
TNET Signage is expected to be useful to corporate and retail businesses to replace
their static signage with DDS, a high-impact medium of digital signage, also known
as retail TV, digital billboards, digital signage or digital indoor TV. DDS
solution allows businesses to update content in real time across different geographical
locations, through state of the art connectivity using multicast technology to
save bandwidth cost and download time. These
can typically be used to deliver in real time from a single transmission point
product information, training, promotion and advertising messages in retail stores,
movie theatres, banks, hotels, malls, corporate establishments, etc, that require
immediate information in real time. "Today
many static / digital signage solutions are available, but delivery, management
and distribution of content over a large geographical spread still remain biggest
challenge. We call this as a logistical nightmare," said Sanjay Tari, general
manager, strategy and business development, TIVS. "By
the time the banners / CDs reach the destination, the content may be already obsolete
and stale. Satellite offers flexibility and control to transmit, deliver and distribute
''real-time'' content across large networks, reducing the costs of production and
transport. "The
reputation and proven performance of SCALA InfoChannel software platform with
our TNET Signage product promises to deliver the highest quality and experience
of DDS to corporate''s" he added. The
TIVS-digi4 alliance will offer tailored DDS solutions across various business
verticals including banking, retail, entertainment, and public facilities such
as airports, railways delivering multimedia content on monitors, plasmas and digital
billboards screens. TIVS
intends to connect 1,000 screen across the country on TNET Signage platform by
current fiscal year and 4,000 screens by Dec 2008. "The
key to successfully deploying and managing dynamic digital signage solutions involves
a flexible software platform that can seamlessly integrate with external electronic
systems, creative display options and a robust connectivity model. The proven
power of SCALA InfoChannel and Digi4 experience in the Indian market, coupled
by the connectivity options and expertise provided by TIVS makes this a perfect
alliance and we believe will offer tremendous value to customers",
said Mohammed Rafeeq, director, strategic planning, Digi4. TNET
Signage would help establishments save significant printing,
logistics; manpower and time cost of pulling out or changing information and promotion
especially in a multiple locations, thus reducing production cost and enhance
user experience with real-time information.
