Mumbai:
With sales heading south for most players in the domestic
two-wheeler industry, TVS Motor Co. is now planning for
an aggressive focus on sales.
The
company has drawn up plans to expand its existing chain
of 1,500 service stations and 550 dealers, to a combined
new total of 3,000 retail outlets in a span of three years.
Some
of the existing chain of service stations will see an
evolution into retail outlets as well.
Each
of these planned outlets will have a sales point to help
generate additional sales, and an additional lot of 1,000
new dealerships will form part of a chain of new dealerships,
better covering the domestic market.
According to media reports, TVS expects motorcycle sales
to touch 90,000 units by October-end. It sold 44,392 units
in July.
