Mumbai:
CEOs of aviation companies can look forward to getting
a birds eye view of the global aviation industry at the
click of a button so that they can navigate their companies
to greater heights of profits by taking timely decisions.
Kale Consultants and the International Air Transport Association
(IATA) are developing a CEO Cockpit, a comprehensive business
intelligence system that will enable the top management
of airlines to take prompt business decisions based on
key performance indicators in all areas of the airline
revenues, costs, passenger and cargo, charter/wet lease,
downturn flexibility, quality, profitability, human resources
and finance.
The product, based on a rigorous economic model, will
link all key performance indicators together and benchmark
them with both competitors and industry leaders.
"The CEO Cockpit allows simulation along critical
measures and ensures that the airline management determines
areas where attention and effort could facilitate improvement
in performance," says Kale Consultants managing director
Vipul Jain.
IATA, representing 270 member airlines, and Kale Consultants,
the leading aviation and banking software company, will
begin product development after signing up early adopters.
Already, over a dozen airlines have been approached. "They
have given a very positive feedback," Jain says.
The product is expected to be commercially available within
the next 12 to 18 months.
An advisory board comprising former CEOs of airlines will
provide the crucial inputs towards the development of
the product.
Kales other solution suite for the airline industry includes
products for passenger revenue accounting, proration,
fare-auditing, deal management, cargo operations, cargo
ground-handling, cargo-pricing, revenue-accounting and
business intelligence solutions. It has over 40 airline
customers across the world.
