Mumbai:
Foreign exchange reserves of the country went further
down this week to $203.991 billion from $204.009 billion
last week, the Reserve Bank''s weekly statistical report
showed.
Foreign
currency assets stood at $196.493 billion while total
gold reserves remained unchanged at $7.036 billion.
The
country''s reserve position at the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) also came down by $1 billion to $461 billion,
the report said. The RBI said the foreign currency assets
expressed in US dollars included the effect of appreciation
or depreciation of other currencies held in its reserves
such as Euro, Pound and Yen.
The
foreign exchange reserves include India''s reserve tranche
position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
