Mitsubishi, Hindustan Motors launch new products at Delhi Auto Show news

Mitsubishi Motors and Hindustan Motors Ltd (HML) have jointly unveiled four models at the ongoing Delhi Auto Show.

The four new Mitsubishi Motors and HML passenger cars  include i-MiEV, Lancer Evolution, Outlander and Montero. These products were unveiled by Ravi Santhanam, managing director, , Hindustan Motors, and Katsuya Maeda, general manager, product planning, Mitsubishi Motors Corp., Japan.

The i-Miev, Mitsubishi's vision for the future in urban commuting, is an electric vehicle that can be charged up to 80 per cent capacity within 30 minutes flat, for the first time ever, using a special charging system as well as charged overnight using domestic power. The electric vehicle balances environmental and driving performances. 

Lancer: The legendary Lancer Evolution is the king of rally championships and has been an enormously successful series worldwide, the manufacturers say. 

Outlander: The Outlander will soon be made in India. The company describes it as an extraordinary successful urban activity vehicle.

The Outlander is equipped with high performance 2.4l MIVEX engine that is claimed to be economical and clean in terms of exhaust emissions. The engine is mated to a 6-speed CVT with paddle shifting that delivers bith excellent acceleration and high speed cruising performance. Its advanced drivetrain features electronically controlled 4WD that is based on Misubishi's AWC philosophy.

The Monetro was launched in India in June 2007, within six months of its global launch. The car is available in manual and automatic versions.
