F1 fans vote for Force India's Belgium win in LG survey news
06 April 2010

Racing enthusiasts in India have voted Force India's Belgian Grand Prix as the `LG moment of the year 2009', as per an LG Global survey published in the F1 racing magazine.

Force India team had earned its first pole and podium position at the Belgian Grand Prix, thus bagging its first championship points.

"We at LG wanted to know directly from fans their favourite moment of the year, something that made them feel good, so we put it to vote through the LG global fan survey and Force India's result in Spa came out top," Andrew Barrett, vice president of global sponsorships for LG, said.

Barrett also presented Vijay Mallya, the owner of Force India with a special commissioned picture at the Australian Grand Prix 2010 played this weekend.

The survey involved 90,000 people worldwide who were asked to vote for their favourite moment in the F1 2009 championship from a shortlist of 12 events.

Formula One, considered the world's most prestigious motor racing competition, had over 520 million television viewers from 188 territories in 2009.
