Seshagiri turns down Trai berth

New Delhi: N Seshagiri, former director general of National Informatics Centre, has declined to join the reconstituted Telecom Regulatory Authority of India as a part-time member. It is reported that Mr Sheshagiri is planning to join a leading software and internet company as its director and head of technology.

Zacharias quits Madura Garments, joins Sify
Bangalore: George Zacharias, president, Madura Garments, has quit to join Satyam Infoway as president and chief operating officer. He was slated to join Coats Viyella in London in a senior position after Coats Viyella sold Madura Garments to Indian Rayon

Mr Zacharias will report to R Ramaraj, managing director, Satyam Infoway.

Arora appointed Wyeth regional VP
Mumbai: Baldev Arora, chairman and managing director of Wyeth Lederle India, has been promoted to Wyeth Lederle Inc’s area vice president (Southeast Asia). Mr Arora, will take charge of his new assignment on 1 March and will oversee the American pharmaceuticals group’s operations in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia. He will continue to be based in Mumbai.

In the Indian operations, Wyeth Lederle India’s vice president (finance & administration) Ranga R Iyer will take over as managing director in Mr Arora’s place from 1 March. He will report to Mr Arora and the Wyeth board.
