leasing company Aviation Capital Group (ACG) announced on Wednesday 5 September
that it has placed an order for 15 additional next-generation Boeing 737s. Worth
approximately $934 million at list prices, the order was recently posted on the
Boeing orders and deliveries website, but attributed to an unidentified customer. ACG
now has a total of 64 Boeing airplanes on order. These include 59 next-generation
737s and five 787 Dreamliners. The company had acquired delivery positions from
Delta Air Lines last year for 15 next-gen 737s. ACG''s fleet contains 141 Boeing
aircraft, including next-gen 737s, 737 classics, 757s and 767s. The
next-generation 737 is the most technologically-advanced single-aisle airplane.
It is preferred owing to its wide market base, superior efficiency and the lowest
operating cost in its class. To date, 107 customers have placed orders for more
than 4,000 next-gen 737s. Unfilled orders exceed 1,700 airplanes, worth over $120
billion at list prices. Aviation
