Independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, NXP Semiconductors, has
tied up with global consulting, technology and outsourcing services leader, Capgemini,
for five-years to provide end-to-end finance and accounting (F&A) services,
including procure-to-pay and record-to-report. Earlier
in 2000 Capgemini had implemented its ERP deployment, Speed, based on SAP, for
NXP in 2000. NXP,
founded by Philps 50 years ago, expects the current arrangement to support its
business renewal programme, which focuses on high performance, operational excellence
and an asset-light strategy. Paul
de Koning, group controller at NXP, said, "This new contract gives us a more
flexible platform to meet our programme goals strengthening our position in the
marketplace and improving service quality to our clients." "We
have worked successfully with Capgemini for many years, including the support
of our global SAP rollout and the implementation of our procurement centre in
Manila,Philippines," de Koning said. Under
the terms of the agreement, which expands the existing long-term relationship
between the two companies, approximately 110 professionals, who are currently
based in India, will join Capgemini''s business process outsourcing ''excellence
delivery centre'' in Chennai, starting 1 October 2007. This will strengthen Capgemini''s
capabilities to provide F&A services, and brings the number of dedicated BPO
experts in India to nearly 1,500. "The
selection of Capgemini by NXP is a strong indicator of the growing confidence
and belief our clients have in our ability to deliver end-to-end finance and accounting
services using our Rightshore BPO delivery network," said Salil Parekh, executive
chairman, Capgemini India. "We believe that we have the right blend of transaction
process expertise, industry knowledge and technology innovation skills to enable
NXP push the boundaries of excellence in parameters related to quality, business
agility, and risk management."
This deal is the 20th F&A BPO deal won by Capgemini in the last three years.
This contract
follows Capgemini''s recent introduction of a third generation of BPO services
globally. Known as BPO with Business Insight, Capgemini says it combines "unique
Business Insight processes with the innovative use of business intelligence tools
and deep industry knowledge". According
to the consulting firm, these solutions deliver excellence in bottom-line optimisation.
"Trough analytics and business intelligence tools, they unlock the hidden
value in basic BPO workflow, delivering business insights to drive value to the
top line," it said.
