New
Delhi: Linux For You, Asia's first Linux magazine,
has released LiFY, a developer version of LiFY (Linux
from India For You). It is integrated with free programming
tools, documentation and tutorials. It is totally free
for any personal and business use. It is developed at
LFY Labs, New Delhi.
Till
now, setting up a software development operation used
to be a very expensive proposition. The cost of operating
system and development software used to be almost 10
times the cost of the hardware. The LiFY developer will
make possible for new software developers to set up
their entrepreneurial operations. It will also drastically
reduce costs for existing software development companies.
Linux
has the active support of various government bodies,
industry organisations (MAIT, Nasscom) and commercial
organisations (IBM, Oracle). More and more companies
are implementing Linux for their business operations.
The LiFY developer will expand the utility of Linux
towards software development with some of the finest
software development tools and tutorials.
Says
Rahul Chopra, editor, Linux For You: "The
biggest challenge for Linux is to make it useful for
easy adoption. The Linux developer brings out some of
the finest development tools and documentation that
can be used as a base for a software development operation."

on the latest Linux kernel 2.6. It also includes
