 Mumbai:
To recognize the women high achievers in business, Electrolux
Kelvinator Limited, the Indian subsidiary of the Electrolux
Group, the World''s No.1, producer of powered household
and outdoor appliances and The Financial Express, one
of the leading financial dailies, have come together to
present the first Electrolux-FE Awards for Women in Business
2004. The awards were presented yesterday at a function
in Mumbai by Union Finance Minister, Jaswant Singh.
Mr.
Jaswant Singh presented the awards in two categories
- Lifetime Achievement Award and Professional Manager
of the Year Award to Anu Aga Chairperson of Thermax
and Ranjana Kumar, CMD Indian Bank respectively. Rajeev
Karwal, MD and CEO, Electrolux Kelvinator Ltd. conferred
the award for Knowledge Professional of the year to
the eminent lawyer Zia Mody. The award for Women Entrepreneur
of the Year was presented to Kiran Majumdar Shaw from
Biocon by Shekhar Gupta, Group CEO, The Indian Express
Group.
The
high profile audience at the occasion included RBI Governor
Y.V.Reddy, Mr. Anil Ambani, Mr. Anand Mahindra, Mr.
Alex Kuruvilla, Ms. Ravina Raj Kohli, Mr. Sam Balsara,
Mr. Ashok Hinduja,
Ms. Simone Tata, Ms. Kalpana Moraparia and others. Also
on the occasion, Mr. Jaswant Singh made a special audiovisual
presentation on ''India Shining''.
