Brazilian
aircraft maker Embraer said on Tuesday 25 September said that it had sold five
business jets each to Eagle Creek Aviation Services and Executive AirShare, adding
to previous orders the two US-based companies had placed. Indianapolis-based
Eagle Creek added five Phenom 100 jets worth $14.9 million to a previous order
worth $61 million that had 12 planes of the same model and four Phenom 300 planes.
The Phenom 100 seats four passengers and the Phenom 300 six people. Executive
AirShare, based in Kansas City, bought three Phenom 100 jets and two Phenom 300
jets worth a total of $22.24 million, with an option to double the order, Embraer
said. Last May it ordered seven Phenom 100 jets with an option for seven more. Embraer,
the world''s fourth-largest commercial jet maker, has invested heavily to develop
small business jets, in a bid to diversify its revenue base. The company had an
order book of $15.6 billion at the end of June.
