| GM Daewoo Auto & Technology, the South Korean unit of General
Motors (GM), has launched the 2009 models of the new "Gentra'" sedan and "Gentra
X'" hatchback, which the automaker says are the most fuel-efficient vehicles in
their segment. According to GM Daewoo Auto & Technology, the additions
to the Gentra family will feature a new 1.6-liter engine, whose fuel efficiency
of 13.9km per litre with an automatic transmission - 16km with a manual transmission
- tops its predecessor and competitors. (View

with the economical 1.2 DOHC engine introduced with the launch of the Gentra X
last year, small car buyers have a greater choice than ever before," said GM Daewoo
vice president of vehicle sales, service & marketing Rick LaBelle. The
2009 Gentra sedan (manual transmission) will be priced between 9.07 million Korean
won (roughly $9,600) to 11.12 million won. The 2009 Gentra X hatchback is likely
to cost between 8.57 million won and 10.96 million won. View: Auto
