Geometric Software Solutions (Geometric), a leader in product lifecycle management (PLM) services and technologies, has launch of GeomCaliper for CATIA V5, an innovative tool for measuring and checking the wall thickness of CATIA V5 3D models. It is easy to use and can be accessed within a CATIA V5 session, providing immediate feedback to designers during the design process itself.

Among other applications, it will help engineers to quickly detect thin areas in plastic molded components that may result in warps, or thick sections in castings that may result in hot spots. This tool can be used and the generated results interpreted after minimal training.

CATIA V5 customers can benefit from its 3D-oriented productivity features such as advanced thickness map display and manipulation. The pre-release version of GeomCaliper for CATIA V5 supports CATIA V5 R12, R13, and R14.
