Addressing
a press conference on the occasion of the national launch
of the product in Hyderabad, HCL marketing manager Rajiv
Thapar said the newly-launched PC has a built-in intelligent
digi-flat TV, plus 1500 W home theatre system, video compact
disc player and gaming station with 3D sound.
The
PC will be offered with wide variety of software, which

Multilingual office suite (enabled to work in 11 Indian
languages), School Whiz ducation Software and Windows
Media Player. With Intel Pentium 4 1.8 GHz, 128 MB RAM
and 40GB Ultra ATA 100 HDD it comes with wide variety
of added features.
In
an attempt to increase awareness about the benefits of
computerisation and also to coincide with its national
launch, Indias premier information enabling company
has teamed up with Microsoft to organise a two-day exhibition
called HCL PC Experience 2002. The event,
scheduled to be held on 21 and 22 December 2002, will
give the citizens of Hyderabad a chance of a lifetime
to experience for themselves the advantages of computerisation.
The
two-day event is divided into four zones (game, business,
family and sponsors) and is aimed at both families and
business enterprises. The families via the interactive
games software and interactive demonstration of various
software and PCs will be able to determine for themselves
which products are most suitable to their needs and how
they can add value to their lives.
For
business enterprises, not only will the business zone
at the exposition display the various business application
products of both companies, but a special seminar titled
Business Advantage, organised on the second
half of 20 December, will give them an opportunity to
understand how they can bring in efficiencies and increase
the profitability of their businesses. The seminar will
have speakers from Microsoft, Intel and HCL Infosystems.
In
order to bring about awareness and invite registration
for the event, the organisers have planned an equally
extensive promotion exercise on 21 and 22 December. As
part of the awareness campaign, the organisers will undertake
door-to-door visits in residential colonies and business
enterprises, visiting schools and setting up kiosks at
local shopping and office areas.
