New Delhi: A limited upgrade programme of the Indian Navy's Sea Harrier aircraft by State-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is scheduled for completion by 2009 at a cost of Rs476.69 crore, according to the Indian defence minister AK Antony. He provided this information in a written reply to house member Sugrib Singh in the Lok Sabha. The minister also said that the Indian Navy is facing a shortage of the Sea Harrier because of the ongoing upgrade. This unavailability, however, was of a temporary nature.
