Ratan Tata and Aditya K. Birla felicitated
Mumbai: At an awards function organised by the Indian Merchants Chamber, Ratan Tata, Chairman Tata Sons, and Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group were conferred the IMC-Juran Quality Medal and the IMC - Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award respectively. Dr. Reddy, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India addressed the distinguished gathering.

ICFAI faculty members win top awards
Hyderabad: A. Mukund and A. Neela Radhika, faculty members of the ICFAI Centre for Management Research, have bagged the top award in the Eighth Regional Asia-Pacific Case Writing Competition. They had presented their case study on the Japanese telecom giant DoCoMo.

Another faculty member, Vivek Gupta, won the first runner-up prize for his case study `FedEx Vs. UPS in China — Competing with contrasting strategies'.

According to the Dean of the institution, Mr S.S. George, the case study competition has attracted over 40 high quality case submissions every year from leading business schools and management colleges from Hong Kong, China, the UK, Taiwan, the US, Canada and Australia.

Lakshmi Mittal: Richest Asian in Britain
London: According to The Rich Report 2004 brought out by The Mail On Sunday, Lakshmi Mittal, Chairman of the LNM Group, the world's second-largest steel producer, has emerged as the richest Asian and the fourth wealthiest person in Britain. His wealth was put at £3.1 billion this year as against £1.25 billion last year.

The Hinduja brothers - Srichand, Gopichand and Prakash - figure as the second richest Asians and 34th wealthiest in Britain with a fortune of £905 million. Other NRIs who figure in the list are Anil Agarwal (£640 million), Jatania brothers and Tom Singh (£330 million each), Vijay and Bhikhu Patel (£292 million), Gulu Lalvani family (£240 million), Jasminder Singh and family (£217 million), Bharat and Ketan Mehta (£165 million) and Dinesh Dhamija (£132 million).
