Vijay Mallya appointed chairman, Deccan Aviation news

Board members of India's pioneering low cost carrier, Deccan Aviation, have appointed Vijay Mallya, chairman of the UB Group, the spirits maker, as chairman, according to a Reuters report.
The report said that Mallya will replace NS Narahari, who will now continue as director.
The UB Group owns a 49 per cent stake in the carrier.
Capt GR Gopinath, founder of Deccan Aviation, will assume the post of vice-chairman.
